The federal state of Canillo
Canillo is the largest of the seven Andorran provinces (parroquias) in terms of area and is located in the north-east of the country. It borders France to the east as well as the provinces of Encamp, Ordino and La Massana. With around 120 km² and around 4,500 inhabitants, Canillo is large in area but one of the least populated regions in Andorra. The capital of the same name, Canillo, is picturesquely situated at an altitude of over 1,500 meters - an ideal starting point for nature experiences and quiet mountain moments. Geographical features include the Grandvalira ski resort, the Incles Valley (Vall d'Incles) and the sanctuary of Meritxell.
